Working with Irv Azoff,  manager of  Joe Walsh, Dan Fogleberg, The Eagles, and REO Speedwagon.

"The Butterscotch Grove" under Azoff's direction toured the Midwest in their familiar psychedlic bus, performing concerts, and defining the music of that era.

The band "The Butterscotch Grove"   soon after shortened their name and was  known simply as "The Grove" by their fans.

The last performance of "The Grove" was an outdoor concert hosted by Dr. Timothy Leary.

Since the band's last performance in the mid 60's, they have recently come together again to make a recording at "Sound Workshop", CA.

"Same Old Label" is putting together an anthology of "The Grove".

If you have any memorable stories, posters, photographs, or audio tapes. "Same Old Label"  would appreciate hearing from you.

Stories from the Grove

2/10/2003
We were heading out from Beloit Wisconsin and started driving down the highway. The bus was running pretty smooth that night. Tiger, one of our roadies, was drivin'... I remember him walking to the back of the bus to get a light for his cigarette. He just left the steering wheel go! We were all half asleep, and the next thing I remember was everybody screaming out, "who's driving the bus!" It was a good thing we were in Wisconsin where they had those highways with slanted curbs on the sides. I guess the people who built those roads were thinking of safety first. Good thing, it probably saved us all.
